Canvas Access has been restored for all users at Modesto Junior College and Columbia
College
Yosemite Community College District Information Security Office is pleased to inform you that the recent Canvas outage has been resolved and Canvas service has been restored for all users at Columbia College (CC) and Modesto Junior College (MJC)
We understand the disruption this may have caused and appreciate your patience while
our teams worked to restore service as quickly as possible. All core functionality
has been confirmed, and all faculty and staff should now be able to access all courses
and materials without issue.
Threat actors often try to take advantage of incidents such as this. We encourage
the campus community to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious communications,
which could include messages that appear to come from within our campus community.
If you encounter such an activity, please report it to the YCCD IT Service Desk. YCCD,
Modesto Junior College, or Columbia College, will never ask you to pay money to access
Canvas materials. Do not click on suspicious “Canvas recovery” or “password reset”
links, and please log out immediately and contact the IT Service Desk at itservicedesk@yosemite.edu.
While the outage has been resolved, we are monitoring the situation closely and coordinating
with the California Community College Chancellor's Office and Canvas. Protecting the security and privacy of our students and employees is
a top priority.
