After each U.S. Census, school districts that elect boards by Trustee Area must redistrict
(adjust Trustee Area boundaries to equalize population). The Yosemite Community College
District is subject to mandatory redistricting pursuant to Education Code 5019.5.,
by the deadline of March 1, 2022. The Registrar of Voters requires Yosemite Community
College District to submit new district lines by the deadline of February 1, 2022.
The District is working with the Foundation for California Community Colleges and
Redistricting Partners, LLC. to conduct redistricting for Yosemite Community College
District Governing Board elections following the 2020 Census.
Redistricting Partners, LLC, presented three draft maps during a public hearing on
December 8, 2021, at the Yosemite CCD Regular Board Meeting. The draft maps were
created using traditional redistricting principles and balance for population for
the District. The public is invited to provide comments on the draft maps provided
below.
