New Student Account Activation Instructions


What do I need to know?

After applying, you should receive a "Welcome" email from your school (containing your student ID number and student email address) at the personal email account you provided on the school application form (please note that it may take up to 24 hours for the email to be sent).

The email will look similar to this example:

Following your Welcome email, you will receive the "YCCD - Password Change for New Account" email. 

NOTE: This password reset email will expire in 30 days. After 30 days you must contact the IT SerivceDesk to have your password reset! 

If you don't see it, please check your spam or junk folder!

What do I need to do?

IMPORTANT: Once your @my.yosemite.edu account is created, communications regarding waitlist permissions and add authorizations will only be sent to your @my.yosemite.edu email!

Follow the instructions in the "Password Change for New Account" email to create a password for your new student account. This account will be used for all your school student logins.


Note: Your student email will be your first name followed by your W number, without the "W" or any leading zeros. For example, if your first name is Susie and your W number is w0012506, your student email will be susie12506@my.yosemite.edu.


What if I didn't receive the password change email for the new account or the email is missing? 


Go to https://id.yosemite.edu/ click on Recover Your Password

Enter your student email and submit.  You should receive recovery information at the personal email address you provided on your school application form.

Once you reset your password, you should receive a password reset confirmation email. Afterward, you are ready to log in and set up MFA.

NOTE: Your new password will take up to two minutes to sync. Please wait for two minutes before logging in using your account.
